For my web adventure I want the story to follow the Twelve Trials of Heracles. The web adventure will start with an introduction about Heracles and why he was subject to the twelve trials. At the end of the crawl it will prompt the viewer that the fate of Heracles is in their hands before his twelve trials starts. The twelve trials are as follows; Slaying the Nemean Lion, Lermaean Hydra, Capturing the golden hind of Artemis, capturing the Erymanthian Boar, cleaning the Augean Stables, slaying the Stymphillian birds, capturing the Cretan bull, stealing mares from Diomedes, obtaining a belt of Hippolyta, stealing the Cattle of Geryon, stealing the apples of Hesperides, before the final trial of capturing Cerberus. Each trial will feature two options; One that causes Heracles to win and one that causes Heracles to lose. When traveling between the areas where the trials take place, Heracles will have to grab objects that will help him in his journey. After completing all of the trials, the player will be rewarded with the traditional iconography of Heracles; A club, lion skin, and three apples. Potentially there will be iconography of all of his trials on the final page, symbolizing his victory. The way to lose is to pick the improper option for the trials, which will prompt a losing gif that varies based on each prompt. Not all prompts will have a losing option and instead will redirect the player back to the prompt to let them know that it isn’t working. For example, in the first trial of defeating the Lion of Nemea, the two options will be to strangle the lion or shoot it with arrows. If you strangle the lion, you get the reward, if you shoot it with arrows, the lion attacks you. For trials like cleaning the Augean stables where the options are to clean it by hand or use strategy, if you clean it by hand it will tell you it’s taking a while and redirect you to choose to clean by hand or use strategy. This time, if the player clicks use strategy Hercules will redirect the rivers to clean it but if the player picks to clean it by hand, the loop will repeat.
