My web adventure is an exploration of the Twelve Trials of Heracles, a story steeped in both Roman and Greek mythology and heroism. This interactive experience invites viewers to step into the shoes of Heracles and navigate the challenges set before him by the gods after he kills his family. The adventure begins with an introduction to Heracles and the reasons behind his twelve arduous trials, setting the stage for the viewer to determine his fate. The trials, each tied to a significant myth, include slaying the Nemean Lion, slaying the Lernean Hydra, capturing the Golden Hind of Artemis, capturing the Erymanthian Boar, cleaning the Augean stables, slaying the Stymphalian birds, capturing the Cretan Bull, stealing the cattle of Geryon, stealing the apples of the Hesperides, and finally capturing Cerberus. As the player progresses, they will encounter a series of decisions that influence the outcome of each trial. Some choices lead to victory, while others result in failure or retrying, all of which will prompt visual feedback to immerse the player in the trials. At the beginning of his journey, Heracles will collect important objects which help him conquer the challenges ahead. This web adventure is not only a tribute to ancient mythology but also a reflection of how decision-making and strategy shape narratives. It is designed to offer both triumphs and setbacks, emphasizing the importance of careful choices and their consequences. Along with this, each trial has a hidden easter egg to the wikipedia page about that trial where the viewers can not only learn more information, but get hints as to how Heracles defeated that specific labor.
